CPE's for CPA's: Understanding Business Investment Opportunities

Designed for CPAs looking to better understand private equity and grant based funding opportunities for technology companies.  This course will provide you with information on how private equity, state and federal grants and tax incentives benefit clients participating in research and development of new technology based products and services.

Learning Objective:  Become aware of the numerous resources for technology based companies and identify how and when a company should seek these resources.  

Program Content and Major Subjects:
•    Overview of Traditional Economic Development programs.
•    The landscape of private equity sources in Ohio and an overview of how they operate.
•    Navigating Ohio’s Third Frontier Grant and Loan programs
•    Discovering Ohio’s Technology Investment Tax Credit for accredited investors

Advance Preparation:   Optional for the participants to preview the TechStart program beforehand by visiting the website at www.techcolumbus.org/techstart .
Instructional Delivery Method:  Classroom style lecture with PowerPoint presentation and handouts.
