Columbus Interactive is run by volunteers with a mission to advance the local digital and interactive community. The organization serves the Central Ohio digital eco-system by connecting professionals, driving integrated communication technologies, and spreading awareness of the region’s vibrant interactive community.

Ci seeks a part-time volunteer Web Application Developer/Designer, who will be responsible for maintaining ColumbusInteractive.com and developing new technologies to advance the site. Summary:
The Web Application Developer/Designer will be responsible for supporting the existing Columbus Interactive site and develop new technologies for the site
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Maintain the current ColumbusInteractive.com site, which currently uses WordPress and Innogage.
  • Develop new Web applications as identified by the Columbus Interactive team through packaged and customized applications.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Web sites and all internal systems are integrated.
  • Perform complete testing of Web applications and engaging users as necessary.
  • Conduct all user acceptances testing, and report results.
  • Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
  • Develop database-driven Web interfaces for rapid, real-time information sharing.
  • Participate in priority setting sessions.

The Ideal candidate will also possess the following skills:

  • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
  • Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
  • Experience with hardware and software issues.
  • Proficient in Internet related applications such as E-Mail clients, FTP clients and Web Browsers.
