Since 2007, a unique web site at CentralOhioEntrepreneurs.org has served more than 1,600 businesses and entrepreneurs, providing resources and information for planning, starting and growing small businesses. The web site is the result of a community partnership between TechColumbus, the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), Columbus Chamber, Columbus Metropolitan Library and OCLC, and provides a one-stop portal for information and resources for Central Ohio startups, entrepreneurs and small businesses.
While partner organizations such as TechColumbus and the SBDC serve as information points, the site features a host of other resources, including federal and state contacts for everything from obtaining licenses and grants to tax resources, regulations and government contracting.
"I've seen other Ohio websites that are directories, but have never seen one that is as robust as this," says April McCollum, a business librarian who manages the site. CentralOhioEntrepreneurs.org is unique in that it provides both extensive information directories along with the services of McCollum to help direct entrepreneurs to the information they are seeking.
CentralOhioEntreprenuers.org is a free service and available to help all small and growing businesses no matter what their area of focus.
